    Feeding Directions

Feed Masterfeeds Rx Roughage in a no hay diet at the rate of 1¼ to 1½ kg per 100 kg of body weight per day to maintain a horse in good condition under light exercise. Divide the allowance into three separate feedings daily. A working horse and growing stock will require more feed, up to 2.0 kg per 100 kg body weight daily.

Gradually remove hay over a two week period daily, according to the amount of work performed, the condition of the horse and the quality of hay.

    * Feeding rates may vary depending on forage quality and horse’s activity level.

    Product Features & Benefits

Available in both cubes and pellets.

Total nutrition in every bite. The cube promotes chewing and the pelleted version is ideal for bulk applications. Both forms are equal in nutrition. The choice is yours.

Contains a high level of Crude Fibre.

Makes a bulkier, safer complete feed with cool calories ideal for hot horses.

Allows for reduced feeding of hay.

Extends hay inventory when hay is in short supply or quality is poor, or for horses who can’t eat hay due to respiratory concerns or dental problems such as senior horses.

    Balanced Calcium to Phosphorus ratio.

A balanced ratio is important for good health and development.

    100% organic trace minerals.

More bio-available resulting in higher uptake of trace elements which are essential for the development of strong healthy joints and an active immune system.

    Contains Yea-Sacc® 1026 and Pulse 500.

Together, these products work as both a pre-biotic; feeding existing bacteria and a pro-biotic; adding more beneficial bugs to the gut. This works to stabilize the gut, reduces digestive upsets, and maximizes nutrient digestion and absorption.

Masterfeeds Rx Roughage is a high fibre pellet or cube, which is used as a high fibre feed, and as a hay stretcher and extender at times when hay is in short supply, or for horses who struggle consuming hay due to problems with their teeth such as senior horses.

Fortified with a lower level of vitamins and minerals it is safe to be fed at very high levels as a complete hay replacement when needed.

Ideally however some long stem hay should be provided.
